PORTRAIT: TRIBAL

HMU by: Me
Photographed by : Me

feather earrings by Sisters' Closet
Thanks to my two models (and my "bestest" friends ever)
who allowed me to borrow their faces as an open canvas. It was
a fun photo shoot with a tribal theme and this is my favorite so far.
Enjoy the pictures!

the end.

We'll definitely do more photo shoots like this.

Redge's Prenup (Home Service)

I went off at around 6am this morning with my photographer Pam
and came exactly on time. It was Redge's prenup photo shoot
and they're lucky it didn't rain early this morning. My client here,
doesn't want any of her photos to be posted. I promised I wont post her pictures
but here's just some of the photos during the preparation without showing her identity.
The couple (who's been together for 10 yrs.) availed airbrush makeup
but I applied it lightly for the groom just to look polished.

PORTRAIT: MONOTONE

       HMU by: Me
        Photographed by: Me
             Model: Ryizah

So finally I'm posting this one!

The look: MONOTONE
As the title suggests, there's just one shade used for the entire face to create this look.
As I've mentioned before, bronzers can be used in varieties. This time
I used it very lightly on the eyelids and swiped on the cheeks for that matching effect.
I kept the lower lash line bare then I paired this lovely orange lip shade.
The result? Amazingly fresh beauty.

Orange is a tricky shade to use along with pink.
It can make you look tired and dull when not applied correctly on the eyelids.
The trick is to stay away from red undertones.
Think  nude, pale and light varieties to replicate the flowers' freshness.

May 14,2011

I have been MIA for a while..i know, i know...
I had this client of mine last May14 and I wasn't able to post this right away since I went to
Quezon Province later that day with a friend to attend the Pahiyas Festival there.
Anyhow, I have upcoming portraits to show within this week and more
beauty stories aligned for this last week of May up to the month of June. I'm thrilled!

So here's the before and after shot taken by Pam.
This was a simple day makeup. For events held on daytime, you don't wanna look
overly done. With too much sunlight hitting your face, a touch of color will go a long way.
But then again you also wouldn't want to come and look undone like you just rolled
out of your bed. You wanna look fresh and presentable. This is kind of tricky since
it calls for balance between the no makeup look and a dramatic look.

Can you believe those lashes?! It's thick, long,..and it's natural.
The neutral shades I used for the outer third of her eyes made a beautiful
backdrop for her lashes when she opens up her eyes. It was such a wonderful effect!

PORTRAIT: BRONZED BEAUTY

HMU by:  "ME"
 Photographed by:  Jed Malimban
     Model:  Alyssa

The bronze, the smile, the sunshine... what could scream "summer" louder
than this combos??

The look: BRONZED BEAUTY
The power of bronzer..ahh. it can be used in so many ways.
In this shoot, I used it to add a summer glow to the entire face
by sweeping it just below the cheekbone, faded up to the temples.
I faked the tan on my model to match with this theme. Just a simple
eyeshadow in shimmery brown swiped all over the lids
and on the lower lash line made such a statement.
NO eye liner. I  Just curled the lashes and loaded on the mascara for
that understated yet polished stare.

Now is the perfect time to stroke that bronzer to your look
to emphasize your sun kissed glow.

Kate Middleton's Bridal Makeup

While every woman wanted to finally witness the details of her wedding gown,
I, on the other hand, wanted to see what her makeup artist did for her wedding look.
Surprisingly, she did not hire a makeup artist for her wedding day at all!
She took makeup class instead and did this look all by herself. If you will notice,
it's not the typical wedding look (especially here in Philippines) since she opted for smoky eyes.
The eyebrows were too strong , smoked eyes, and really strong eyeliner.
She toned it down with soft blush and lip shade which balanced everything.
I was able not to recognize it on tv but her face looked so matte in this shot. I don't remember
as well if she had a matte finish but it's one of the important details for a bridal look-
it has to be dewy (just enough shine) to look amazingly youthful and unbelievably fresh.
She must have not gotten enough sleep the night (or few nights) before her wedding coz literally,
I can see her eye bags on tv. And you can even see it in this picture, don't you?
Nevertheless, she looked stunning over all.  Awesome.
