June 11, 2011 Three Makeup Gigs for a Day

June 11 was loaded for me since I had three gigs for that day.
I just felt like its loaded coz after services I had to head home and change
to attend a friend's wedding. Everything ended up well.
I will just post all of those three gigs in one entry. All photos were taken by Pam.

          BRIDE IRENE for HMU TRIAL
I started my day at 6am for this trial. It was supposed to be their prenup
but it was moved and so we just did her trial hmu for her wedding day. The trial
went smoothly that I was able to finish just on time for my next commitment.
before and after
She wanted a natural look and requested nude lip color which I loved
about her because I love going nude on lips but I'm not able to do that much
since most of my brides are not fond of it. She saw this lip color in one of my
portraits/photo shoots. She can't exactly point out the exact blog entry of the
photo and so I just went with my instinct and came out with the exact lip color
                                that she wanted.

HMU for ETOURAGE in LINDEN SUITES
I went off on time to my second gig. I had trouble at first when I accepted
this gig for a call time of 10am when the night before this big day, I was told that
I also have to be present by 10am for the other wedding. So I just sent first my team
to Peeches' hotel to do the entourage and I, on the other hand, attended the entourage
in Linden Suites. Here are some of the photos; no after shot for the mother of the groom were taken.

These entourage were Ms. Carmel's gig- a makeup artist and Benefits Style Salon's
creative director, whom I assisted while she attended service for the bride in a different location.
Everything went smoothly. I wouldn't have done this without my team.
They did a great job with minimal supervision

            BRIDE PEECHES' WEDDING
                       Lancaster Hotel/ Glass Garden Reception
This was my last wedding for the day. Peeches is a high school classmate and a very close
friend of mine. So just imagine my exuberance when she contacted me and was told that
she wanted me to do her wedding makeup. This was airbrush makeup by the way.
We weren't able to do trial or prenup since I was in Boracay on that day and so I created this look
on the wedding day itself. Here are the photos taken by Pam, grabbed from
some friend's fb account, and photos taken by Megapixels photography.

What's In My Makeup Train...

I just finished with a client of mine so I thought to might as well take pictures while I'm on it.
I've been meaning to post and blog about my cosmetics for the longest time
since a lot of inquiries asks for the makeup brands I use. But I never get to
post about it for 1) can't find much time, and 2) i don't really know where to start.
So finally I've decided to get it over with and started with the cosmetics inside my makeup train today.

I know it looked like indefinite of its direction coz of this shot but I promise it's not :)
So, these are my typical makeup necessities. For times when I'm at our salon/studio
this is what you'll see inside my makeup train. These are what I use for most of the time
especially for walk-in clients. It changes every time depending on what I needed for
a certain service. With all of this inside that train, man I swear that's heavy. So when I have
services out the road I try to carry the cosmetics I only needed...as much as possible.
I have a wheeled train case (which I will feature some other time)
but that's where I put my blow dryers, rollers and stuffs like that that's why I have to
carry these babies around.  Let's get to know them one by one :)

Face and Lip Moisturizers. For dry skin types, this must become your staple and best friend.
For oily skin types, remember to pick oil-free moisturizers.

Correctors. These are needed for stubborn zits and eye bags.   (laura mercier)

Concealers.  Face concealer are thick and best not be used for eyes. Since the skin under
our eyes are thinner and more delicate, let the eye concealer then do its job.
                                                      (christian dior, estee lauder,lancome,giorgio armani)

Highlighters. Basically used for highlighting the high points of face and body.
I love the magic it brings.

Foundations. These are what I always bring along with me in our salon
and these basically cover all  types of Filipino skin tones already. If none of my clients'
skin tone match with what I have for the moment, I normally concoct my own foundation
shade by mixing two shades and come out with a new one. For services outside though
I bring along more foundation shades with me

Face Powders. If you don't own translucent powder,  just dab pressed powder slightly on face
for setting the foundation since they tend to be richer in content.
                                              (chanel,lancome, prescriptive,pur,mac,estee lauder)

Blush on.  & Bronzers.  I don't consider myself as a loyal buyer/customer since I love
all types of makeup and different love it gives that's why I don't have a section
where I use only Mac for face powders and stuff like that... and I also love
trying out different things from different brands.

     EYESHADOWS...

However, I do own a lot of Christian Diorssss. All of these are CD. The silver one is Prescriptive.

                                                            (chanel, lancome, estee lauder)
                                                                (lancome,estee lauder)
(sephora, body shop, mac, lancome, shiseido)

PIGMENTS. A different take on eye shadow. Sometimes a little bit more messy but then
again a little bit more fun.   (micabella)

EYELINER. LIP LINER.MASCARA. I just placed it randomly.
(lancome, estee lauder, sephora, elizabeth arden, shisheido and etc..)

LIPSTICKS. I should've shown the colors noh? Anyway these shades are more likely for daytime
events. The only dark shade I have there is red.
(estee lauder, prescriptive, lancome and etc...)

LIP GLOSS. For added oomph. (christian dior, lancome, clarins, este lauder and etc..)

So I realized that majority of my makeup consists of christian dior, lancome, estee lauder, prescriptive,
chanel, clarins, and elizabeth arden. I have more to show. I will do another post some time where
I  will show makeup by section..like... all of my lip glosses, all of my eyeliners, all of my
mascaras, will be featured by its kind. I hope I answered your questions.. :)
